Not Done Yet?

No, it isn't done yet. Part 3 has begun now. Now I've to give my own opinion about the story. Easy as pie, no?

Final Opinion 

The book I've read was a book I won't forget. I'd like the book very much and I truly recommend to read it by yourself. This book has extend my limits. A life affirming read ... But it's also very funny. I also admire the quality of the prose. Sentence after sentence, it is a joy to read. I thing this could easily become a cult  book  with adults as well as with teenagers.

       Blog after reading chapter nine : "The happiest day of my life"


"Dear readers, like you already might have been expecting, is this the final blog on part 2. I hope you're keeping  up my story well. The happiest day of my life is the title of the seventh chapter. Now, this says a lot of what could happen. Because we know that Glory hasn't response yet on the note John has passed her the previous day. She namely swallowed it ! 
Today, Glory came by herself to John and explained why she eat the note. She did so because John passed the note at the last minute of the maths class and if she had tried to response, the maths teacher would caught them.
Finally she agrees to go with him to the Basketball game."

       Blog after reading chapter seven : "Torture Island"


"Dear readers, in this chapter, we already do know a lot of John and his family an school live. But again, He say: "You don't know me. You don't know me at al...". We discover that he's has a friend who he calls Billy Beezer. He eat a lot, but remains skinny. That is impossible thinks John. Anyway, in the previous chapter Billy got arrested by the police because he was attempting to steal food from an Chinese restaurant. This is in advantage for John. because he and Billy Beezer are in love with the same girl, who John calls Glory Halleluja. Billy made a plan to ask her on an date after a basketball game so he can ask her for the school party, John was angry because be loved Glory fist. Now, while Billy is suspended from school, John gets the opportunity to ask Glory for himself.
Now in this chapter John is sitting in maths class, he doesn't understand anything of algebra. Glory is sitting opposite him. He write a note: "Gloria, will you go to the basketball game with me this Friday?". Beneath that monumental question he draws two boxes. a big one for the YES indication and a very small one for the NO indication. 
He pass the note at the last minute of the class. ha see Glory reading it, but after that she EATS the note! John is confused. It was really very enjoying reading it."

       Blog after reading chapter one : "Who I am not"

"Dear readers, after reading the first chapter of this book. I realise that there are people who cannot help if they are bad in something. This boy John - who is the main character - is full-time busy with himself. He don't care what other people say or do, except for few ones he do. In this particular chapter, he describes himself and repeat often the same thing: "You don't know me. You don't know me at al...". This all sound very serious, but in fact it's really funny how John imagines his fantasy world. this really gave me the breathing to continue reading,..."

What contains part 2?

As you already know, I'm working on my book report. You might have read my previous part, witch contains the general information about the book as a plot of it.

Now, in part two I've to write an reading blog. So a kind of dairy seen trough the eyes of the main character or my own eyes. Well, because the book is already written in the I-narrative perspective, I cannot write it seen trough the eyes of the main character. 

So after every part I've read, I've to write down what's has happened, how it have made me feel, etc...

And this only three times of course! We can't write the whole story again, can we?

Plot

John is a young fourteen year old boy. He lives with his mother and his mother's boyfriend who he calls the "Man Who is Not my Father". The man abuses John by assaulting him when nobody is around. He has a friend named Billy Beezer who is skinny but eats a lot which John thinks is impossible. Andy is "slow" and doesn't understand the phrases many teens use. John also has a crush on a girl named Gloria but he calls her Glory Hallelujah. Billy also has a crush on her. The book begins with Billy being arrested for stealing an egg roll from a Chinese store. John sees this as a chance to ask Gloria out which he does by sending her a note which she eats but explains to him it was so the teacher didn't see. She accepts and goes to a basketball game with him. Billy goes also and calls John a terrible friend. A riot occurs in the gym and John and Gloria escape. Gloria brings John home and "seduces" him until John escapes from her and her angry father but leaves clothes and money which he took from the "Man who is not my Father's" drawer. The man finds out and takes John to do some "business". John is forced to carry TVs into a truck. It is also learned that the man deals in transporting stolen TVs. The man also tells John that him and his mother are getting married. In school; Gloria humiliates John, Billy picks on him and he is in trouble for saying rude thought about a teacher out loud and making her cry. Soon John is asked to a dance by a girl named Violet or "Violent". He goes with her and Billy forgives John because he likes a new girl now and Violet stands up for John against Gloria and her new boyfriend. When John goes home, the "Man who is not my Father" is drunk and assaults John but this time he rebels. Him and the man fight. The man gets the better of the fight and beats John senseless. He is saved by his music teacher who had seen John's signs of abuse and came to check up on him. John wakes up in the hospital and his friends and mother are there. His mother wishes he told her before and that she loves him and that he is her flesh and blood. John feels that his mother really knows him and feels loved. He then attends the school's music concert where he cries at the end at a music piece he learned in class, because he finally figures out that it's a love story.
